Brighton welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Amex Stadium on Saturday, aiming to bounce back from a frustrating defeat and rediscover their top form.
The Seagulls will be confident on home soil. They are currently unbeaten in their last six matches at the Amex and have won their last two home league meetings against Spurs.
A key theme of Brighton’s season has been their ability to press high and create numerous chances. However, a failure to convert those opportunities has cost them valuable points, as seen in their recent loss to Bournemouth. Therefore, a more ruthless performance in the final third will be required to get a result against a defensively solid Spurs side.
Fabian Hurzeler has a doubt over left-back Maxim De Cuyper, who was forced off with an injury against Bournemouth. As a result, Ferdi Kadıoğlu could be in line to deputise in defence.
The manager has, however, been boosted by the return of midfield duo Mats Wieffer and Diego Gomez, who are both available for selection. The attack will be led by Danny Welbeck. He will receive support from dangerous wingers Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh, who currently boasts the league’s best take-on success rate.
Brighton predicted XI: Verbruggen; Veltman, Van Hecke, Dunk, Kadioglu; Milner, Baleba; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Welbeck
The Premier League fixture will be played at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, 20 September 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 pm BST.
The match will not be broadcast live in the UK due to the 3:00 pm blackout.
