Manchester City beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad on Sunday, closing in on top spot. British outlets framed it as experience telling against an increasingly anxious Arsenal.
Erling Haaland struck in the 65th minute to seal the win, his 23rd Premier League goal of the season. The Guardian said City had regained the upper hand in the title race and cast that moment as decisive, adding a seventh title in 10 seasons is within reach.
The paper also highlighted Arsenal's waning confidence and lack of a cutting edge, typified by Kai Havertz heading wide in the 95th minute.
The Telegraph likewise focused on that miss, describing Arsenal as losing their footing after back-to-back league defeats. It credited leaders in Pep Guardiola's side, Bernardo Silva, Rodri and Haaland, with a special mention for Nico O'Reilly, for stepping up.
The Athletic pointed to City's clinical edge in attack, in contrast to Arsenal's forwards, and noted that after exits in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup the Gunners still have the Premier League and Champions League in their sights.
The Telegraph added a note of hope, saying Arsenal can still do it with five matches remaining. The race is tight, City are now three points behind with a game in hand.
