Leeds United are set to join the race to sign Carl Rushworth from Brighton this summer
Coventry City are on the cusp of sealing their place back in the Premier League.
Frank Lampard’s side are top of the Championship table, and are set for a return to the top flight after a 25 year absence.
The Sky Blues have been a mainstay in the top two all campaign after reaching the play-offs last season with a fifth place result.
Planning will already be underway for the upcoming summer transfer window, with the club’s eyes set on surviving in the top flight long-term.
Holding onto key players will also be crucial to competing at that level, with uncertainty surrounding the likes of Carl Rushworth and Jack Rudoni.
The goalkeeper is on loan from Brighton, while the playmaker has reportedly received interest from the likes of Newcastle United.

It has been reported by Football Insider that Rushworth is now a leading target for Leeds United ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Whites are keen on the Brighton star following his promising campaign on loan at the CBS Arena, and could rival the Championship leaders for his permanent signature.
Rushworth’s future is up in the air, with Bart Verbruggen currently the first-choice shot-stopper at the Amex Stadium, and promotion rivals Ipswich Town are also considering an approach as clubs begin to circle.
It’s previously been reported that the Seagulls could cash in on the 24-year-old, provided Verbruggen remains in Fabian Hurzeler's first team squad.
Coventry have been linked with a deal for the goalkeeper, who has been an integral part of Lampard’s side this year.
It’s been claimed that Brighton have set an asking price of £20 million for the player, although it remains to be seen whether the Sky Blues are willing to meet this figure.
Former scout Mick Brown claimed that Leeds have sent scouts to watch Rushworth during his loan spell at the CBS Arena.
He believes that the 24-year-old will be assessed on his readiness for the Premier League, and that he expects the player to make that step up next season.
“Leeds are one of the teams looking at him and they’ve had scouts keeping a close eye on him,” said Brown, via Football Insider.
“They’ll have been impressed by what he’s done at Coventry, so then they will assess whether he’s ready to make the step up to the Premier League.
“I think he’s good enough and I’m sure Leeds and any other interested clubs will do as well, so if he’s going to be available, he would be an excellent options.”
Coventry are one point away from sealing their place in the Premier League with just four games remaining.
Rushworth has featured in all 42 of their fixtures so far, conceding on 42 occasions and keeping 16 clean sheets.
Next up for Lampard’s side is a trip to face Blackburn Rovers this evening in an 8pm kick-off, where the club could confirm their place in the Premier League with at least a draw.
Rushworth spending a successful season on loan at Coventry must give the club an edge in the summer in the race to sign him from Brighton.
He’s settled at the CBS Arena, knows the club, the squad, the manager, the fans and has already shown how well he can play under Lampard.
If the Sky Blues are willing to meet Brighton’s asking price, then that should give them an advantage over the likes of Leeds.
While the Whites may prove tempting, particularly with the team set to stabilise themselves in the Premier League, staying at Coventry makes the most sense for now.
