Carlos Benitez to referee Santos v UCV Sudamericana decider | OneFootball

Paraguayan referee Carlos Paul Benítez, 41, will oversee Santos v UCV of Venezuela on Tuesday at 21:30 at Vila Belmiro, the second leg of the Copa Sudamericana play-off.

His assistants are compatriots Roberto Cañete and Jose Villagra, with Ulises Mereles in charge of VAR. The fourth official is David Ojeda, with Eduardo Britos as AVAR. According to Transfermarkt, Benítez has officiated 199 matches, showing 966 yellow cards, 53 straight reds, 34 reds for second bookings and awarding 73 penalties.

The match assessor is Abraham Gonzalez of Colombia, with Victor Martinez serving as Quality Manager.

Active since 2018, Benítez has handled fixtures in the Paraguayan league, the Paraguayan Supercopa, the Libertadores, the Under-20 Libertadores and the Sudamericana.

All other officials are Paraguayan. The tie is set for Vila Belmiro on Tuesday night.
