Manchester City are celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 with the launch of Send it Forward, a campaign designed to celebrate the women shaping the game today and inspire the next generation to see a future for themselves in football.

Send it Forward reflects City’s continued commitment to building an inclusive environment where women feel welcome, supported and empowered to thrive both on and off the pitch.

In the spirit of this year’s official International Women’s Day theme ‘Give to Gain’, key female stakeholders across the Club, including players and staff, have written inspirational messages of advice they want to share to help more girls consider careers in the football industry.

Throughout the month, their advice will be shared online via Manchester City social channels and physically via postcards using augmented reality technology.

For fans in and around Manchester, the free postcards will be available to collect from the Stadium, Arndale and Trafford Centre stores from Saturday 7 March. They will also be distributed on the following matchdays:

Fans outside Manchester are encouraged to visit the campaign webpage, choose a postcard from one of ten participants, and send it free of charge to a girl they want to inspire: www.mancity.com/senditforward. We invite everyone to share the message far and wide to help us truly Send it Forward.

Each Send it Forward postcard features augmented reality (AR) technology, meaning when scanned on a phone recipients will see and hear the speaker delivering their advice directly, as if speaking face-to-face.

Advice ranges from women’s team players to participants from Marketing, Cyber Security, Events, Sports Science, Data, Photography and Coaching and Community Engagement teams.

By celebrating the women already shaping our club and encouraging the next generation to dream bigger, we hope to create lasting impact far beyond International Women’s Day.

HOW TO SEND A POSTCARD

1. Visit www.mancity.com/senditforward, select a postcard and enter the name and address of chosen recipient.

2. The postcard arrives in the post, complete with an augmented reality (AR) feature that allows the recipient to hear advice “in person” from the Manchester City women who wrote it.

3. Share with your friends and family, so they too can Send it Forward!

Send it Forward, because when one message of inspiration is sent forward, its impact can be bigger than we imagine.
