Celta Vigo join the hunt for in-demand Girona star | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Celta Vigo have positioned themselves in the race for highly sought after Girona star Azzedine Ounahi.

Not only that, but the Celestes have gone as far as to hold initial talks over the Moroccan’s potential incorporation.

Midfielder Ounahi is for his part fresh off another impressive individual campaign in Spain’s top-flight. Despite the collective struggles of Girona en route to relegation, the 26-year-old continued to prove himself a diamond in the rough, to the tune of eight direct goal contributions in 24 league appearances.

Such exploits have given rise to mounting interest in Ounahi’s signature, amid the widespread expectation that he will be on the move before the summer is out.

And as alluded to above, this week, a new suitor are understood to have entered the fray.

As per a report from transfer market insider Matteo Moretto:

‘Celta Vigo are pursuing Azzedine Ounahi. The Moroccan midfielder is a specific target, and there have already been talks between the parties.’
