Celtic battled past 10-man Rangers 3-1 after extra time at Hampden Park to book a place in the League Cup final against St Mirren.

The champions opened the scoring after 25 minutes when Johnny Kenny headed in from an Arne Engels corner. Rangers were dealt a huge blow before half-time as Thelo Aasgaard was sent off for a high challenge on Anthony Ralston.

Danny Röhl's side fought back valiantly, and James Tavernier converted a late penalty in the 81st minute to force extra time.

But Celtic quickly regained the lead when Callum McGregor fired a powerful strike beyond Jack Butland, and substitute Callum Osmand sealed the win in the 109th minute with his first senior goal.

The victory gave Martin O´Neill his first Old Firm win since 2005 as he returned as interim manager, sending Celtic through in a pulsating, dramatic tie.
