César Peixoto removed Tolu Arokodare from a Wolverhampton training session for disciplinary reasons, marking his first major disciplinary flashpoint as head coach.

According to Glorioso 1904, the incident occurred on Monday when the 25-year-old Nigerian forward refused to leave the pitch after being instructed to do so, prompting Peixoto to end the session early. The stance was not accepted by the coaching staff, who acted immediately.

The following day, security at Compton Park was strengthened to ensure the player did not re-enter the facility. Wolverhampton also placed him on the transfer list while exploring an exit.

Wolverhampton prepare for Wednesday’s friendly against Maidenhead United. Arokodare was left out of the travelling party.

Portuguese trio Mateus Mané, Rodrigo Gomes and Toti Gomes are among Peixoto’s options. Goalkeeper José Sá remains on holiday following his appearance at the 2026 World Cup.

The episode is an early test of the former Benfica player’s authority and shows he is unwilling to tolerate indiscipline as pre-season continues.
