Jorrel Hato was the only player to emerge from April with any credit, and he’s a worthy player of the month.

April was not a fun month for Chelsea fans.
The win against Port Vale was pretty meaningless, coming before and after a collapsing league situation.
That FA Cup game was followed by three consecutive league defeats without a goal scored and without a moment of hope. The third in that trio saw Liam Rosenior sacked. At least we closed out the month with a narrow win over Leeds, again in the cup, at the weekend.
Not the easiest month we’ve ever seen to pick a player of the month, then. The club’s official website have gone for Jorrel Hato, which seems fair enough. He’s perhaps the only Blues player to improve his standing in that period, as he picked up a couple of appearances at centre back in Rosenior’s final games while Trevoh Chalobah was injured.
He’s overall perhaps the only player we’ve seen improve this season at all.
Liam Delap is going to be a tough sell this summer after a disaster first season for the Blues – but there is one little workaround we could use.
Gary O’Neil has done really well as Liam Rosenior’s replacement at Strasbourg, and the manager has a huge game tonight to show how much he’s improved the team.
