The one piece of positive news for Chelsea after heavy defeat against Everton
Chelsea have been handed a welcome boost with Moises Caicedo managing to avoid a yellow card during the loss to Everton.
Caicedo kept his place in the Chelsea side for Saturday's trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, though he was partnered in midfield by Romeo Lavia as Liam Rosenior made three changes from the defeat against Paris Saint-Germain.
Caicedo went into the Everton game treading the suspension tightrope ahead of key fixtures in Chelsea's quest to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Players who pick up ten yellow cards in the first 32 Premier League matches of the season will receive a two match ban, with the threshold for a suspension raised from five bookings after 19 matches.
Caicedo has already served two separate suspensions in the Premier League this season. He was banned for three games after being sent-off against Arsenal in the 1-1 draw back in November and the missed the draw away Manchester City as a result of picking up five yellow cards.
However, the Ecuador international will be available for selection against Man City this time after a clean game against Everton.
There was one flashpoint early in the second half at the Hill Dickinson Stadium when Caicedo foul on former Chelsea team-mate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall but, fortunately, referee Samuel Barrott, kept his cards in his pocket.

Rosenior, perhaps wanting to protect Caicedo, took off the midfielder late on and replaced him with Tosin Adarabioyo with the Blues already consigned to a 3-0 defeat.
While Caicedo is clear to face Man City, with nine yellow cards to his name he still must avoid a booking at Stamford Bridge to escape a two-match suspension.
If booked against City he will sit out the Manchester United game six days later and then the trip to former club Brighton on April 26.
Meanwhile, Enzo Fernandez - on eight yellow cards - also successfully avoided a booking against the Toffees and is no longer suspension risk.
