The decision was taken to send the 20-year-old on loan to Dortmund for the season, and it seems to be paying off.

Fabrizio Romano provides Aaron Anselmino update

Anselmino has impressed Dortmund boss Niko Kovac with a series of impressive performances, and scored his first goal against Bayer Leverkusen.

Chelsea are believed to have a recall option on Anselmino in January, but barring any injuries it’s hard to see them activating that next month.

Anselmino has put in some impressive performances for Dortmund.

Dortmund are believed to be keen on signing Anselmino on a permanent basis, and Romano has now provided an update on the Argentine’s future.

“Chelsea have denied a request from Dortmund to agree a deal for Anselmino,” he told his YouTube channel.

“Chelsea are very happy with his progress and are not deciding his future yet.”

Anselmino has made nine appearances in all competitions for Dortmund, but would have featured more if it wasn’t for a hamstring injury.

If he keeps impressing over the remainder of the season, he could well find himself as part of Chelsea’s first team squad next season.
