Chelsea hoping to complete Alyssa Thompson transfer before deadline

Chelsea are hoping to complete the signing of USWNT forward Alyssa Thompson before the transfer window slams shut.

The Blues have until 11 p.m. tonight to complete the transfer of the rapid 20-year-old. Talks between Chelsea and Angel City have been ongoing with the player flying over to England to undergo a medical.

However the terms have not been ironed out just yet meaning that Sonia Bompastor's side will have to agree on the financial compensation before Thompson can officially sign for the WSL champions.

Coincidentally, Thompson made her senior debut for the United States in London at Wembley against England at the age of just 17.

This season, Thompson has played 16 times for Angel City in the NWSL, scoring six times and assisting twice.
