Chelsea is now pushing hard for another Arsenal target

Chelsea have beaten Arsenal to the signing of Morgan Rogers, and they are now looking to move ahead of the Gunners in the race to sign John Stones this summer.

Stones is a free agent after leaving Manchester City at the end of last season, and the defender wants to continue playing at the highest level. His experience and winning mentality make him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen their squads.

Chelsea have identified Stones as a player who could bring valuable experience to their team, while Arsenal are also interested in adding him to their squad.

Chelsea Enter Stones Race

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea have joined the race to sign Stones and are planning to add the defender to Xabi Alonso’s squad as they look to introduce more experience into their group.

The Blues currently have one of the youngest squads in the league, and Stones could provide the leadership and experience needed to help develop the players around him.

Stones enjoyed a trophy-filled spell at Manchester City and would bring knowledge of competing at the highest level. His experience is one of the qualities Arsenal also want to add to their squad this summer.

Arsenal Need Defensive Experience

Mikel Arteta knows Stones well after working with him at Manchester City, and that relationship is one of the reasons the Arsenal manager is pushing for the defender to join the club during this transfer window.

The Gunners believe his profile would be useful, especially with William Saliba expected to miss the opening weeks of the season due to injury.

Arsenal will not want Chelsea to beat them to another target after missing out on Rogers, and they could now face another battle with the Blues for Stones’ signature.

The defender has several options available and will need to decide where he wants to continue his career. Both clubs believe he can provide important qualities, but only one team will secure his services.
