Sunderland are braced for a lively summer window after a solid Premier League return, with calls due on loans, recruits and interest in key players. Régis Le Bris’ side are safe, but recognise year two can pose different tests.

Lutsharel Geertruida is reportedly likely to remain on Liverpool’s radar. The Netherlands defender is set to return to RB Leipzig after his loan, and Sunderland are not expected to make the switch permanent. Arne Slot previously worked with him at Feyenoord, a link cited in earlier reports.

Everton are also reportedly monitoring Geertruida, and Leipzig are believed to want more than £20million, with an offer potentially set to challenge that valuation.

Napoli midfielder Frank Anguissa has been linked again. Areanapoli suggests the Serie A club are unlikely to sanction a departure for less than €20million, around £17.4million. Sunderland were credited with interest in January, though his profile, age and cost would make any move a significant call, and he is set to turn 31 this year.

Goalkeeper Robin Roefs is attracting elite attention after a standout debut season. The Sun reports Chelsea and Liverpool are monitoring the 23-year-old, and suggests Sunderland would want around £50million after signing him from NEC Nijmegen for an initial £9million last summer.
