Castello Lukeba (22) could be on the move this summer, according to a report from Florian Plettenberg.
The France international, who has not added to the one cap he earned back in October 2023, remains an ever-present in RB Leipzig’s back-line. This season, he has made 12 appearances in all competitions for the German club and he is considered as one of the greatest prospects in his position in Europe.
Naturally, there is interest in the centre-back, and even more so given that he has a release clause that will be valid during next summer’s transfer window. Plettenberg understands that Lukeba’s release clause will be valued at €80m next summer. He adds that “financially powerful clubs” have him on their lists.
That release clause will drop further the following summer (2027), and it will then be valued at €65m. Lukeba’s deal runs until 2029. Bayern Munich, and Max Eberl in particular, are big admirers of the Frenchman, however, for now, their focus remains on extending the contract of his compatriot, Dayot Upamecano.
