Juventus CEO Damien Comolli has served his ban and is now bracing himself for a busy schedule at Continassa.
The Frenchman was suspended from all sporting activities until the end of March after lashing out at the match official during the Derby d’Italia.
At the half-time break, Comolli, alongside other Juventus officials, confronted the referee in the tunnel after showing Pierre Kalulu a second yellow card for a non-existent foul on Alessandro Bastoni, who had taken a dive.
Juventus Director of Football Strategy also received a ban, but it wasn’t as lengthy as Comolli’s, as the CEO was heard using foul language.
According to Tuttosport (via JuventusNews24), Comolli took the opportunity to fly to Paris and complete the so-called ‘EFC Executive Leadership Program’, a prestigious course developed in collaboration with Harvard Business School.
However, the former Toulouse president will return to Turin on Friday to resume his duties as normal. As the source explains, he has three very important contract renewals on the agenda.
First, Juventus are expected to finalise their agreement with Luciano Spalletti, who is expected to extend his contract for another year or two.
The deal also entails a pay rise, taking the manager’s salary to €6 million. The signatures are expected to arrive on Saturday.
In addition to Spalletti, Juventus captain Manuel Locatelli is also set to prolong his contract with the club.
The 28-year-old will be rewarded for his tenacious performances and vital contributions with a new deal valid until June 2030.
Finally, Comolli will also resume his talks with Dusan Vlahovic and his enoutage. The player’s agent, Darko Ristic, will also join the conversation after arriving in Turin for what could be a decisive round of the negotiations.
While the two parties are still separated by a slight gap, most sources tip them to iron out the remaining details.
