Corinthians have officially parted company with Héctor Hernández, confirming a mutual termination of the Spanish forward’s contract, which had been due to run until 31 December 2026. The club said in a statement that the move will save R$ 4.8 million on the wage bill by the end of the year, and it did not specify whether any payment was made to the player.
Hernández has been separated from first-team training since August last year on the instruction of head coach Dorival Júnior, having fallen outside his plans.
Corinthians had looked to sell the striker, but no deal materialised.
Soon after the termination was made official, Hernández was unveiled by Portugal’s top-flight side Gil Vicente.
Signed in 2024, he made 24 appearances for Corinthians, scoring two goals and providing two assists. His most recent outing came on 12 June last year, in the 12th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
