A fan poll indicates Corinthians supporters are overwhelmingly against extending left-back Hugo Farias into 2027. According to Meu Timao, 95.4% of voters said the club should not renew, and his deal runs until the end of 2026.
Only 4.6% felt the defender could still be useful next year.
Hugo Farias joined in early 2024 after leaving Goiás, arriving to succeed the retired Fábio Santos and compete with Matheus Bidu. He has since played 75 matches, supplied six assists and logged 5,069 minutes.
He lost the starting role to Bidu in 2025 and has featured only three times in the 2026 Paulista. He suffered a lateral meniscus injury to his right knee on five February against Capivariano, missed the first half of the year and returned to on-pitch work this week.
Fernando Diniz also has left-backs Bidu and Fabrizio Angileri available, with Angileri likewise under contract to the end of 2026.
Fan sentiment on renewals elsewhere was mixed. Opposition to extending André Ramalho reached 73.6%, with 26.2% in favour, while André Carrillo and Angileri drew 57.4% and 55.6% support respectively. Other deals expiring at the end of 2026 include Jesse Lingard, Zakaria Labyad and Vitinho.
Corinthians are next in action on 12 July, a friendly against Cascavel at 16:00 at Estádio Olímpico Regional in Paraná.
