Corinthians travelled to London on Tuesday for FIFA's Copa das Campeãs, splitting the women’s delegation into two groups. The flights were arranged so all staff could travel in business class.
According to Meu Timao, the first, smaller group left Parque São Jorge at 21:30 with a scheduled take-off at 16:25. Leadership figures Iris Sesso and head coach Lucas Piccinato were on that flight, alongside six players, Gi Fernandes, Duda Sampaio, Jhonson, Nicole Ramos, Rhaizza and Thais Ferreira.
The club allocated at least 20 bags in this first wave to carry key equipment. Piccinato praised the Fiel’s backing and said he was eager to meet supporters in England during the tournament.
Unlike the first party, the second group departed the social HQ to a warm send-off. Fiel Fazendinha members gathered by the team bus and broke into a poropopó with the players.
That contingent reached Guarulhos around 20:30, with their flight due out at 23:40. Arrivals in London are expected in the morning for the first flight and in the afternoon for the second.
The squad will be welcomed by Fiel Londres at the airport, with activities planned during the competition, including a tribute to captain Gabi Zanotti. Corinthians will train at Barnet FC, a fourth-division club, before facing Gotham FC in the semi-final on 28 at 9:30 (Brasília time) at the Gtech Community Stadium. The winners play Arsenal or ASFAR in the final, with the losers contesting third place.
