Corinthians miss one, three at risk for Capivariano in Paulistão 2026

On the evening of this Thursday (5th), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), Corinthians will host Capivariano at the Neo Química Arena, in a match valid for the sixth round of the first phase of the 2026 Paulista Championship. Currently, the Alvinegro occupies the seventh position in the overall standings – with one game less than the others – having accumulated eight points (two wins, two draws, and one loss – six goals scored and five conceded).

For the match, Dorival Júnior's coaching staff is expected to rest the players considered starters due to the Supercup title last Sunday (1st) and already looking ahead to the Derby against Palmeiras in Itaquera this weekend (8th), for the seventh round of the Paulistão. The only confirmed absence for Thursday's match is the midfielder José Martínez, who is still waiting for his passport reissue to return to Brazil.

The forwards Yuri Alberto and Memphis Depay, who did not take to the field at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava last Tuesday (3rd) but participated in Wednesday's (4th) activity, may be rested. The former was recovering from food poisoning shortly after playing in the Supercup with limitations, and the number 10, in turn, only did regenerative work last Tuesday.

The main novelty is expected to be the forward Kaio César, who debuted last weekend and was registered in the Paulista Championship. According to ge.globo, Corinthians is expected to line up with: Hugo Souza (Felipe Longo); Pedro Milans, André Ramalho, João Pedro Tchoca, Hugo Farias; Charles, Matheus Pereira, Rodrigo Garro, and Vitinho; Kaio César and Gui Negão (Pedro Raul).

The Alvinegro will also need to pay attention to the three players on yellow card warnings for the match, as if they receive a third yellow card, they will not face Palmeiras next Sunday (8th), at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), in Itaquera, for the seventh round of the first phase of the Paulistão. They are: midfielders André and André Carrillo, as well as midfielder Yuri Alberto.
