Corinthians risk losing seven women's U20 players as deals end

Corinthians, in addition to needing to plan regarding the contracts of 11 players from the women's professional team and coaching staff, which end in December, will also have to consider the future of seven athletes from the women's Under-20 team.

Among these, the most prominent name is midfielder Gaby Tomé, who has been a starter for the Brazilian Women's National Team in her category and was one of the two Brabinhas called up for the two friendlies against Mexico during the FIFA window. At 19 years old, the player, in theory, has one more year playing for the Under-20 team.

In addition to her, goalkeeper Sophia Trindade (17 years old), defenders Emelym (17 years old) and Bruna Meer (18 years old), as well as forwards Júlia Romero (16 years old), Rafa Rodrigues (19 years old) and Ester (20 years old), also have contracts only until December of this year, with their futures yet to be decided by Corinthians.

On the professional team, Meu Timão reported in recent days that Corinthians has been negotiating contract renewals with coach Lucas Piccinato and goalkeeper Nicole. On the other hand, according to the portal, right-back Letícia Santos – with low playing time – and forward Eudimilla, who has attracted interest from Santos, are not expected to have their contracts renewed.

In addition to those mentioned, goalkeepers Lelê and Kemelli; defenders Érika and Mariza; full-backs Tamires, Paulinha, and Gi Fernandes; and midfielder Gabi Zanotti have contracts only until December 2025. In recent interviews, Íris Sesso, director of women's football at Corinthians, stated that the club is already in talks with these players.

The 2026 season will start off busy for the Brabas. This is because Corinthians will compete in the Copa das Campeãs – Women's Club World Cup – between the end of January and the beginning of February, in London, England, and will face Gotham FC in the semifinals.
