Corinthians schedule Thursday return for Memphis with two-day medical | OneFootball

Corinthians have set Thursday for Memphis Depay’s return to CT Joaquim Grava, where he will undergo a two-day medical before any reintegration under Fernando Diniz, Globo.com reports.

Club executives and the player’s camp have an agreement on a two-year contract that also settles a R$ 42 million debt in four six-monthly instalments, the first due in February 2027. The new deal will be on a different model with remuneration well below his current terms, signed in September 2024 and due to expire this Friday.

Memphis will be reintegrated only once the renewal is signed. The expectation is for Monday, with the squad in Porto Alegre this weekend to face Internacional in the Copa do Brasil round-of-16 first leg.

Within the club, some councillors and allies of president Osmar Stabile are concerned about the forward’s condition, given his injury record and limited minutes this year for Corinthians and the Netherlands at the World Cup.

Memphis’s representatives maintain he is fit and could be available to Diniz as soon as he is cleared. Internally, if he passes the medicals and a new work visa is granted, he could feature on 6 August in the second leg against Internacional at Neo Química Arena.
