Corinthians hosted the 11th and final public hearing on reforming its Statute at the club’s Teatro do Corinthians in Parque São Jorge on Monday night, this time behind closed doors for councillors only. The committee presented its proposals and discussed the Conselho Deliberativo voting format, advancing this step before referral to the Assembleia Geral.
According to Meu Timao, around 100 councillors attended as Deliberative Council president Romeu Tuma Júnior opened with a little over 15 minutes outlining key themes in the draft, flagging articles with multiple competing versions. Some councillors appeared unclear on aspects of the presentation.
Tensions spiked during an exchange between Rubens Gomes, known as Rubão, and former legal director Vinícius Cascone. The confrontation reportedly neared a physical altercation, forcing a temporary halt, and the session was widely seen as dominated by unproductive disputes.
Legal director Pedro Soares and innovation director Herói Vicente were present. Club president Osmar Stabile also attended and remained inside the theatre throughout, his first appearance at the hearings.
Members of the current Gaviões da Fiel board, plus figures from previous administrations, were at Parque São Jorge but were not allowed into the theatre.
The Comissão de Reforma do Estatuto will now consolidate feedback and draft a new version to be put to a vote in the Conselho Deliberativo on two or nine March, which may take place at Neo Química Arena. The text should then go to the Assembleia Geral of members for approval.
