Corinthians stay in Paulistão play-off spots after 1-1 draw with Santos

According to Meu Timao, Corinthians stayed seventh on five points and within the Paulistão play-off places after a 1-1 draw with Santos as the fourth round concluded on Thursday night.

Dorival Júnior's side began the round with a chance to climb to fourth. A contentious Gabriel Barbosa free-kick, amid protests over the foul that led to it, was a key moment in the draw.

They are level on points with Santos, Guarani and Botafogo-SP. Corinthians sit above Santos on goals scored, and ahead of the pair on goal difference.

The next round opens the second half of the league phase. Corinthians could reach fourth if they beat Velo Clube and São Bernardo, Capivariano and Portuguesa drop points.

They visit Velo Clube at 20:30 on Sunday, 25, at the Benitão, in round five. Red Bull Bragantino top the standings on 10 points, the competition's only unbeaten team.
