Corinthians will enter the market for a new centre-back after João Pedro Tchoca joined Torino.
According to Globo.com, Dorival Júnior said after the 1-0 win over Velo Clube that a replacement is necessary. He noted academy defender Iago Machado, 16, is promising but not yet ready.
Gabriel Paulista has already arrived this window, while Félix Torres has gone to Internacional on loan. Dorival currently has Gustavo Henrique, André Ramalho, Gabriel Paulista and Cacá for the role.
The club have also signed Matheus Pereira and right-back Pedro Milans. They await forward Kaio César’s signature, and have lined up the arrival of midfielder Alisson, not yet finalised.
Tchoca moved on loan until the end of June with an obligation to buy, bringing in 1.5 million euros, around R$ 9.5 million.
If he plays 10 matches of at least 45 minutes, the purchase is triggered for 4.5 million euros, R$ 28.2 million. The deal also carries 1 million euros, R$ 6.2 million, in bonuses and a 12% share of any future profit for Corinthians.
Tchoca joined Corinthians in 2019 aged 16, won the Copa São Paulo in 2024 and made 33 senior appearances, scoring once. He also won the Paulista and the Copa do Brasil last year.
