Corinthians ‘to rest’ Memphis Depay and two others ahead of Flamengo clash

Corinthians are set to rotate at Chapecoense on Thursday, with Dorival Júnior managing resources before Sunday’s meeting with Flamengo in the Brasileirão.

GE reports that Corinthians have decided to rest Gabriel Paulista, Carrillo and Memphis Depay for the trip to Arena Condá, the trio having shown physical fatigue, with a view to featuring against Flamengo.

Corinthians last played on Wednesday 11, losing 2-0 to Coritiba at Neo Química Arena. They now visit Chapecoense in Chapecó on Thursday 19 at 21h30, Brasília time.

Even while eyeing Flamengo, the club remain under pressure this season. After elimination from the Campeonato Paulista, they are seeking a response in the Brasileirão and sit eighth with eight points.

Flamengo travel to the Neo Química Arena on Sunday 22 for the eighth round, with kick-off at 20h30, Brasília time.
