Corinthians without key men for Internacional tie, number 10 still out

Corinthians will face Internacional on the evening of Wednesday, September 30, at 7:30 PM (Brasília time), at Beira-Rio Stadium, in a match valid for the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The Alvinegro currently occupies the 13th position with 29 points (seven wins, eight draws, and 10 losses – 25 goals scored and 31 conceded).

The Corinthians coaching staff will not be able to count on the following players for the match: defender André Ramalho (strain in the right hamstring), midfielder Charles (treatment for pain in the right knee), midfielder Rodrigo Garro (grade 2 injury in the right calf), as well as forwards Yuri Alberto (serving suspension) and Memphis Depay (final stage of recovery from edema in the right thigh).

Corinthians’ number 10, in fact, has started a transition process – the final stage before being fully cleared to train with the squad at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. He has not played since September 10, when the Alvinegro defeated Athletico-PR in Itaquera, in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals.

The Corinthians medical department has been cautious regarding the Dutchman’s recovery, aiming to avoid a new injury and more time away from the pitch. The expectation is that the player will be available for the match against Mirassol this Saturday, October 4, at 9 PM (Brasília time), in Itaquera, for the 27th round of the national competition.

Midfielder Luiz Gustavo Bahia is one of the new names on the squad list. The “Son of Terrão” had been recovering from a ligament injury in his ankle and has been training with the Corinthians squad in recent weeks.

Additionally, Corinthians will have to pay attention to those at risk of suspension for the match against the team from Rio Grande do Sul: Dorival Júnior, Hugo Souza, Gustavo Henrique, Matheus Bidu, and Talles Magno. Midfielder Charles also has two yellow cards but will not play, as he is injured. If any of them are booked, they will not face Mirassol at home over the weekend.
