Corinthians Women aim to extend strong run against Independiente Santa Fé

On the night of this Wednesday, October 8, Corinthians will face Independiente Santa Fé of Colombia at 8:00 pm (Brasília time) at Estádio Francisco Sola, for the third round of the group stage of the Women's Libertadores. With this, the Alvinegro will look to maintain their “dominance” over the Colombians.

Throughout history, Corinthians and Santa Fé have faced each other three times in women's football. The first encounter took place in the group stage of the 2017 international tournament and ended with a 2-1 victory for the Brabas. In 2021, they met in the Libertadores final and once again the Alvinegro won, this time by 2-0.

In the last edition of the Conmebol Women's Libertadores, Corinthians and Santa Fé met again and the Alvinegro also triumphed 2-0, claiming their fifth title in the history of the competition (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024). In total, there were three matches, with three victories for Corinthians – six goals scored and one conceded.

On Tuesday, October 7, the Brabas finished their preparations for the match and started the training day with a physical workout in the gym. Later, at the Campeones Del Mundo training center, coach Lucas Piccinato made additional adjustments to the offensive aspect. There was also set-piece training.

The only absence for the match should be forward Jaqueline, who is recovering from a foot injury. Given this, the Brabas are expected to take the field with: Nicole; Gi Fernandes, Thais Ferreira, Mariza, and Tamires; Dayana Rodríguez, Duda Sampaio (Letícia Monteiro), and Gabi Zanotti; Gisela Robledo, Vic Albuquerque, and Jhonson.
