Corinthians wrap up preparations for crucial Copa das Campeãs clash

Corinthians has completed preparations for the semifinal of the Champions Cup, a competition marking the first Women's Club World Cup organized by FIFA. In a single, decisive match, the Brabas face Gotham FC from the United States this Wednesday, the 28th, at 9:30 AM (Brasília time), at the Gtech Community Stadium in London, England.

Tuesday's training session was held at The Hive, Barnet FC's training center, with the initial minutes open to the press present in London. According to the Meu Timão portal, the athletes began activities with the traditional “bobinho” and then engaged in physical exercises, alternating one-legged trots with short sprints on the field.

The main novelty observed was the absence of midfielder Andressa Alves, who watched the warm-up from the stands. Additionally, Dayana Rodríguez, Paola García, and Gisela Robledo also did not participate in the activity and are expected in London to complete the squad available for the match.

For the decisive match, coach Lucas Piccinato is likely to field a more experienced team, seeking greater defensive balance. The probable lineup for Corinthians in the semifinal includes: Nicole Ramos (Lelê); Gi Fernandes, Thais Ferreira, Erika, and Tamires; Ana Vitória, Duda Sampaio, Vic Albuquerque (Dayana Rodríguez), Belén Aquino (Andressa Alves), and Jaqueline; Gabi Zanotti.

After the warm-up period observed by the press, Piccinato continued the training with the final tactical adjustments before the clash. Later on Tuesday, the team will familiarize themselves with the stadium's pitch. Following this, a press conference with the coach and a mixed zone with three Brabas athletes are scheduled.

Besides Corinthians and Gotham FC, Arsenal from England and AS FAR from Morocco are competing for the other spot in the Champions Cup final. The tournament's decisions will take place on Sunday, February 1st, when the champion and third place will be determined in matches held at Emirates Stadium.
