Corinthians wrap up preparations for the Majestoso in the 2026 Paulistão

Corinthians held their final training session in preparation for the Majestoso, valid for the second round of the 2026 Paulista Championship, on the morning of this Saturday (17) at the Doutor Joaquim Grava Training Center, in an activity led by coach Dorival Jr.

During the session, the athletes first worked indoors at the training center's gym, and when they took to the field, they engaged in tactical work and also practiced offensive and defensive set pieces, as is traditionally done on the eve of matches.

After the training concluded, left-back Matheus Bidu spoke to Corinthians TV about the importance and responsibility of a classic match against São Paulo: “Extremely difficult game, first classic of the year, we know our responsibility, now we must stay strong, we are focused and, God willing, come out victorious.”

Matheus Bidu also highlighted the support and strength of the Fiel Torcida, which is expected to fill the Neo Química Arena in Sunday's Paulistão clash: “The support of the fans is extremely important, we know they are our twelfth player, all support is always welcome, and we are aware of our strength at home,” concluded the number 21.

It's worth noting that the match could mark the debut of Matheus Pereira, a midfielder announced this past Friday, who, according to the material officially released by Corinthians, will wear the number 23 jersey, last worn by the now former right-back of Timão, Fagner.

For the Majestoso, Dorival Jr will not count on the presence of Memphis Depay, as reported exclusively by Central do Timão, nor the Argentine Rodrigo Garro, who is still recovering from wrist surgery performed earlier this year.
