Corinthians youth stars help Brazil win Liga Evolução Under-15 🏆

Throughout last Monday, October 6, the Brazilian U-15 National Team won the Liga Evolução by defeating Argentina in a penalty shootout, 5 x 4. In regular time, both teams drew 2 x 2. The victory featured two of the main highlights from Corinthians' youth categories: the midfielder and captain, Lucas Lopes, and the attacking midfielder Léo Rodrigues – who has been playing as a winger.

In the final, Léo Rodrigues even assisted Allan to score one of Brazil's goals after driving the ball and crossing to his teammate. The second goal for Brazil was scored by Lucas Lopes, a product of the Corinthians youth academy. At 13 minutes into the second half, he received a pass between two opponents, cleared them, and finished firmly.

Currently, the Brazil U-15 team is led by coach Guilherme Dalla Déa, who was the coach of Corinthians' U-17 category in the 2023 season and won the state championship by defeating São Paulo in a penalty shootout at Alfredo Schürig Stadium, Fazendinha.

Besides the athletes, other professionals from Corinthians were part of the victory: the coach of Timãozinho's U-15 team (who served as an assistant in the Brazilian National Team of the category) and the physiotherapist Renato Mendes. Throughout the competition, Brazil defeated: Peru (2 x 0) and Ecuador (4 x 3). There were also draws against Colombia and Venezuela, both 1 x 1.

Liga Evolução Women's U-15

The Brazilian Women's U-15 National Team won the Liga Evolução last Sunday, October 5, by defeating Argentina in a penalty shootout, 4 x 2, after a goalless draw in regular time. The victory included two Corinthians athletes: the goalkeeper Nathy and the forward Grazi.

The Corinthians goalkeeper, in fact, alternated between starting and being a substitute throughout the competition. In the final against Argentina, she saved two penalty kicks. In the group stage, Brazil defeated Venezuela, Peru, and Colombia by 3 x 1, 2 x 0, and 4 x 1 (after a comeback), respectively, finishing the first phase as champions of the North Zone.

In the South Zone, the Argentinians were the winners. The tournament's decision took place between the two winners of the mentioned conferences.
