SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica – The Final Round of the Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup concluded with Costa Rica and Honduras playing out a nil-nil draw in Group C on Tuesday at Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San José, Costa Rica.

Warren Madrigal had a promising look for Costa Rica in the 20’, but his right-footed hit from outside the box was saved by Honduras goalkeeper Edrick Menjívar.

Andy Najar delivered the best chance in the first half for Honduras, in the 45+2’, with a grounded finish towards the bottom-left corner that was met by a save from Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

The efforts from both goalkeepers ultimately were crucial for the goalless result, with Navas recording two saves while Menjívar had five.

With the draw, Costa Rica and Honduras are eliminated from World Cup contention.

Honduras finished second in Group C with nine points and a 2-3-1 record. Costa Rica finishedthird in the group with seven points and a 1-4-1 record.
