Craig Bellamy’s call on Leeds United quintet for Romania friendly

Craig Bellamy has made his call on Leeds United involvement for Wales’s final June friendly in Romania, with Ethan Ampadu, Joe Rodon and Dan James starting. Karl Darlow is among the substitutes, Danny Ward starts in goal.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the game kicks off at 6.45pm at the Stadionul Steaua in Bucharest. Young full-back Jayden Lienou is also in the squad after receiving a first senior call-up.

Ampadu, Rodon, Darlow and James all began Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at home to Ghana, while Lienou was an unused substitute.

The Leeds quartet endured disappointment in March, missing this summer’s competition after Wales lost on penalties to Bosnia Herzegovina in the qualifying play-off final.

Elsewhere at Elland Road, four Leeds players are bound for the World Cup, Brenden Aaronson with USA, Gabi Gudmundsson with Sweden, Noah Okafor with Switzerland and Ao Tanaka with Japan.
