SCO Angers forward and Crystal Palace target Sidiki Chérif (19) sustained an injury during Sunday’s goalless draw against Paris FC.
Chérif suffered a blow to the ankle in the first half, his manager, Alexandre Dujeux, confirmed post-match. That blow was sustained during a duel with Paris FC defender Otavio. Dujeux said that Chérif continued to play on but that, by the hour mark, he couldn’t go on, hence his substitution.
However, L’Équipe understands that initial tests on the ankle were positive and that a departure from Angers this month has not been compromised. The Frenchman is still the subject of interest from Crystal Palace, who submitted an offer worth €17m on Thursday, the publication understands.
Laurent Boissier, Le Scos’ sporting director, stated last week that he did not intend for the striker to depart. However, with deadline day approaching, there may yet be many turns in the road, with the striker preferring a move to the Premier League.
