In under two months in charge, Cuca has already used 30 players across 13 Santos matches. According to Diario Do Peixe, only João Pedro, Rodrigo Falcão, Samuel Pierri and left back Vini Lira, who is recovering from injury, are yet to feature.

Lucas Veríssimo, Luan Peres and Bontempo have been the most used, each appearing in 12 of the 13 games. Zé Ivaldo has played just once. Escobar, Christian Oliva, Moisés and Thaciano have featured 11 times.

Brazão, Igor Vinicius, Barreal, Rollheiser and Willian Arão have reached double figures too. Gabigol has nine outings, while Neymar, Rony and Gustavo Henrique have eight. João Schmidt and Lautaro Díaz are on six, with Zé Rafael and Miguelito at four.

Cuca’s run started with a 0-0 at Cruzeiro, then a 2-0 over Remo, a 3-1 loss at Flamengo and a 1-0 defeat at Deportivo Cuenca. Santos then beat Atlético-MG 1-0, drew 1-1 with Recoleta, lost 3-2 to Fluminense, drew 0-0 with Coritiba and 2-2 at Bahia. Further 1-1 draws followed at San Lorenzo, at Palmeiras and away to Recoleta, before a 2-0 win over Bragantino.

Cuca’s sweeping rotation has given chances across the squad, with 30 players already involved and only four still waiting.
