Celtic return to league action this weekend with a home match against Motherwell tomorrow afternoon (Saturday, March 14, 3pm) at Paradise, with the Hoops looking to follow up their Scottish Cup quarter-final win against Rangers with a massive three points in the game.
One standout performer last weekend in Govan was Dane Murray, who came off the bench in the second half to help Celtic to a penalty shootout victory.
The big central defender has been in good form whenever he has been called upon recently, with his performances both domestically and in Europe proving pivotal as the Hoops look to build up a head of steam as the final stretch of the season approaches.
Speaking to the media at Lennoxtown this afternoon, Murray reflected on what has been a busy period for the Celts and on his own involvements in Celtic’s recent run of form.
“It’s been a bit hectic the last few weeks but I’m really enjoying it.” Murray said. “You just need to be ready when you’re called upon.
“Even in training you need to be on it every day so that, if your chance comes, you’re ready.
‘Recently we’ve had the momentum on our side so now it’s about riding that wave and taking it in to every game.’
“There’s a real togetherness through the squad. Even in the tough moments we’ve stuck together so now our full focus is on Saturday.
“For now, my own priority is to play as many games as I can before the end of the season and hopefully from that I can become a mainstay.”
