Daniel Farke expects to have close to a full squad for Manchester City’s visit, with Gabriel Gudmundsson available and Noah Okafor the only player out, according to Leeds Live.
Okafor sustained a hamstring strain against Birmingham City in this month’s FA Cup fourth round and was initially ruled out for two to four weeks. He was always set to miss Saturday and could be sidelined for a few more matches depending on his recovery.
Gudmundsson started at Aston Villa last weekend but was withdrawn at half-time after feeling unwell. He has returned to training and is in contention to start against Man City for the first time, after being benched in the reverse fixture.
That was the only Premier League match he has not started, with 26 appearances in United’s 27 league games. Farke also turned to a back three for the first time in that game.
He could again go with Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol and Pascal Struijk as his back three on Saturday. Reflecting on December’s 91st-minute defeat to a Phil Foden goal, Farke felt Leeds improved after the interval.
He said the side have largely used three-four-three since, occasionally three-five-two, and have grown through the campaign. He added that strong displays have increasingly brought points, though late setbacks have sometimes gone against them.
