Daniel Farke struck an upbeat note on Friday, reporting no new injuries as Leeds United prepare to host Manchester United after their 0-0 at Liverpool.

According to Leedsunited.news, the head coach spoke less than 24 hours after addressing reporters on Merseyside, pleased to bring a point back to Elland Road. That followed the 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Sunday.

Farke confirmed that Sean Longstaff, Joe Rodon and Daniel James remain out, while Ethan Ampadu is suspended.

Ampadu’s absence is especially frustrating, with the Wales international banned after a harsh yellow card for a questionable handball offence.

On cover in midfield, Farke pointed to natural options such as Ilia Gruev, though he wants to assess the Bulgarian’s recovery after a heavy workload and his first start for a while.

He added that he hopes Gruev and Sebastiaan Bornauw recover quickly, with late decisions likely before Sunday’s early kick-off, more or less straight after breakfast. Farke said Leeds will find solutions.
