Daniela Areia Santos and Letícia Almeida ‘to join’ Porto after Benfica exits | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Benfica pair Daniela Areia Santos and Letícia Almeida will join Porto as their contracts expire. The defender is 22 and the midfielder 21.

Santos spent 2025/26 on loan at Valadares Gaia, making 26 appearances with one goal and one assist, form that earned her a Portugal debut.

Almeida is also out of contract and will make the same move. Signed by Benfica in 2023 after impressing at Famalicão, she stayed with the first team. Under Ivan Baptista last season, she played in 17 official matches without scoring.

Benfica announced on Wednesday the departure of five first-team players. Alongside Santos and Almeida, Marta Salvador, Zoe Matthews and Carolina Ferreira will leave when their contracts end, and are free to join other clubs from one July.

The exits come amid broader squad renewals in Portuguese women’s football. Porto are seeking significant reinforcement after securing promotion to the Liga BPI for next season.
