Gonçalo Santos to follow Marco Silva to Benfica after Fulham farewell | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Gonçalo Santos has bid farewell to Fulham and will join Marco Silva at Benfica. The assistant coach becomes the latest member of Silva’s staff to depart London.

His Instagram message thanked Fulham for two incredible years, described the group as a family and expressed that he would miss those alongside him.

Santos, 39, joined Silva’s backroom team in 2024 and quickly became one of his key lieutenants. Their connection dates back to Estoril, where Silva coached him, a relationship now set to continue in Lisbon.

Marco Silva has also left Fulham after confirmation of his exit, and is very close to taking charge at Benfica. His message to supporters praised their backing across five years.

The message thanked fans for standing with the team from day one, noted many things were achieved together and that the staff always felt the support. It added that Fulham would remain in his heart and that he would return to Craven Cottage sooner or later.
