Marcelino Núñez set up the second goal in the 60th minute as Ipswich Town beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 at Portman Road. The assist swung control in a game his passing had already shaped.
Early on, Núñez's corner found Dara O'Shea for a close header (3.). He then picked out Ivan Azon Monzon from a set piece (22.). A through ball released Jens-Lys Cajuste for a low effort that Pierce Charles saved (28.).
After the restart, he led a fast break and slipped the pass that Jaden Philogene finished (60.). Moments later, another Núñez feed teed up Sindre Egeli for a strike on target (67.).
He finished with one assist, six key passes and four accurate crosses from four, plus five recoveries and two tackles. A blend of craft and bite that kept the Tractor Boys in charge.
With whipped set pieces and quick releases in transition, Núñez consistently found early angles into dangerous zones, forcing The Owls' back line to retreat and giving Ipswich's forwards simple runs to attack.
The Tractor Boys rise from fifth to third in the Championship. They visit Millwall next, while The Owls host Hull.
