Despite Olympique de Marseille's defeat in their last visit to Real Madrid in the opening match of the Champions League this season, their Argentine goalkeeper set a record of his own that will surely be remembered for years to come.
In the first half of the match, the Argentine goalkeeper saved ten clear shots from Real Madrid players, making him the first goalkeeper in Champions League history to achieve this record since Opta began compiling these records in the 2003/04 season.
The first half was less a game of football and more a personal showcase of one goalkeeper's brilliance. He stood as an impenetrable force, pulling off a greater number of saves in a single half than any other keeper has managed in the Champions League for over two decades.
