Diaz to Saudi Arabia? Bayern boss Dreesen weighs in | OneFootball

Most recently, Luis Diaz has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has now firmly dismissed the speculation—and at the same time made it clear that Michael Olise is also not for sale.

Transfer rumors surrounding Luis Diaz and Michael Olise continue to occupy FC Bayern. While Olise has recently been repeatedly linked to Real Madrid, Saudi club Al-Hilal is reportedly showing interest in summer signing Luis Diaz.

CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, however, is taking the speculation in stride. At a press conference in Munich, the 57-year-old made it unmistakably clear that Bayern has no intention of letting their attacking stars go.

Dreesen expressed surprise at the numerous reports about possible transfers. He finds it “astonishing” “what all kinds of things can be spread when you yourself know the truth.”

The CEO was particularly clear about Michael Olise’s future. According to him, there has been absolutely no contact from Real Madrid so far. Bayern Munich has received neither phone calls nor emails nor any other inquiries. A sale is out of the question anyway. “He still has three years left on his contract, okay?”

Dreesen: “We’d be stupid, wouldn’t we?”

The same applies to Luis Diaz, whose name had recently been mentioned in connection with Al-Hilal. Dreesen responded to the rumors with a clear message: “We’d be idiots, wouldn’t we?”

The Bayern boss added: “We have such a wonderful team, honestly. Let’s just get the season started and score a few goals.”

These statements align with the record champion’s current transfer strategy. With Nathaniel Brown, Ismael Saibari, and Luis Diaz, the Munich club has already signed its key reinforcements. On the outgoing side, however, Joao Palhinha, Sacha Boey, and Bryan Zaragoza are expected to leave the club.

However, the club’s leadership is determined to keep the core of the squad together, at least when it comes to the key players. Dreesen’s clear words therefore leave little room for speculation: As things stand, neither Olise nor Diaz is for sale—regardless of what offers may come in from abroad.
