Dodi Lukebakio ‘to return’ for Benfica in early February | OneFootball

Dodi Lukebakio is edging towards a Benfica comeback after an ankle fracture, with his recovery progressing well.

According to O Jogo, the Belgian winger is already working with the ball and is in the final phase of rehabilitation from surgery carried out at the end of February. If his progress holds, he could re-enter José Mourinho’s plans in early February.

That picture was reinforced by his participation in Tuesday’s session on 20 January as the squad prepared for Juventus. The outcome of that match fell short of expectations.

In that workout, alongside Alexander Bah and Samuel Soares, he completed several running drills, indicating he is getting closer to competitive action. Mourinho has recently welcomed Bruma back after an Achilles tendon rupture.

This season Lukebakio, valued at 20 million euros, has made 11 appearances, six in Liga Portugal Betclic, three in the Champions League, one in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 835 minutes he has one goal and three assists.
