Bild reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are the club with the best chance to sign Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn.
There is no doubt that Frankfurt need a defensive midfield to help their defensive problems. It is said that Markus Krösche is now making a push to sign Eichhorn in the summer.
Frankfurt have been in contact with the 16-year-old for over a year and made an attempt to sign him last summer, but he opted to stay in the Hauptstadt.
Eichhorn has played 14 times for the Hertha senior side this season, before an ankle injury sidelined him. The midfielder also has a release clause in his contract worth €10-12m.
However, die Adler are the team with the best chance to sign Eichhorn, but face competition from other Bundesliga sides such as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
Frankfurt can offer Eichhorn a regular starting place in the system of new head coach Albert Riera as he would prove to be a more mobile option compared to the Spainard’s current choice of number six – Ellyes Skhiri.
Die Adler have also shown an interest in Bochum midfielder Catejan Lenz as well as Hoffenheim’s Grischa Prömel.
