Bild claims that Eintracht Frankfurt are best placed to sign Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn.

Frankfurt are seen to need a defensive midfielder to address recurring defensive issues. Markus Krösche is said to be pushing for a summer move.

The club have been in contact with the 16-year-old for over a year and tried to sign him last summer. He chose to remain in the capital.

Eichhorn has made 14 senior appearances for Hertha this season before an ankle injury sidelined him. His contract contains a release clause worth €10-12m.

They still face competition from Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

Under new head coach Albert Riera, Frankfurt could offer Eichhorn a regular starting role. He would be a more mobile option than the current number six, Ellyes Skhiri.

Die Adler have also shown interest in Bochum midfielder Catejan Lenz and Hoffenheim’s Grischa Prömel.
