Eliud Kipchoge, the two-time Olympic champion, visited the Arena do Grêmio in Porto Alegre on Thursday and met Luiz Felipe Scolari, the club’s technical coordinator, known as Felipão.

According to Globo.com, the 41-year-old Kenyan is in the city to run NB 42K Porto Alegre 2026, which is considered one of Latin America’s leading marathons. The stadium’s kit supplier is the same brand promoting Sunday’s race.

A declared football fan, Kipchoge said he is supporting Morocco during the final stages of the World Cup.

He added that the trip forms part of his personal plan to contest marathons on all seven continents.
