Nottingham Forest have rejected two Manchester City bids for Elliot Anderson, the latest worth more than £120 million with £106 million guaranteed and £15 million in add-ons, according to Nottingham Post.

Forest are holding out for a package of up to £130 million. Owner Evangelos Marinakis is said to want £110 million up front plus £20 million in bonuses.

If met, that price would make the 23-year-old England international the most expensive English player, surpassing Declan Rice’s £105 million move to Arsenal, and would also eclipse the British record of £125 million paid by Liverpool for Alexander Isak. At £130 million he would rank as the third most expensive signing in history, behind Neymar and Kylian Mbappé.

City are attempting to complete a deal before England begin their World Cup campaign on June 17. Manchester United, who have tracked Anderson, are expected to step away because of the escalating fee.

Head coach Vítor Pereira has praised Anderson’s quality and wants him to stay at the City Ground, but accepts the market is hard to control and has not guaranteed he will be at the club next season.

The former Newcastle United player is under contract until June 2029, strengthening Forest’s position. The club are under no pressure to sell and know a strong World Cup could further increase his value.
