Estevao has scored six goals in his last five starts for club and country, and has already established himself as a fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.

Estevao praises Carlo Ancelotti

Ancelotti has admitted Chelsea are lucky to have Estevao, and the teenager is regarded as the best player to emerge from Brazil since Neymar.

Chelsea are said to believe Estevao will be one of the top ten players in the world in the next three seasons, and on current evidence he’s certainly on track to do that.

Fans have called for Maresca to start the youngster more, but he’s so far resisted those urges as Estevao continues to settle into life in England.

Estevao has spoken on how confidence has been key to his good start, and he’s praised Ancelotti for the confidence he’s shown in him.

“The mentality is that he’s trying to push me to be the best I can, and I’m very happy about that,” he told Hayters TV.

“You see when someone likes you, when they not only praise you but also give you a little scolding when needed.

“When it’s time to praise, praise. When it’s time to criticise, criticise. So, I’m very happy for this incredible moment I’m living.

“It’s about working, improving every day. I know I’ve started to improve. I keep getting better and better here because it’s an honour.”

Pedro Neto back in training

Estevao is currently competing with Pedro Neto for a place on the right wing, although the Portugal international can also play on the left.

Neto has started every league game this season, although Estevao has arguably looked Chelsea’s best winger at this stage.

The former Wolves man withdrew from international duty with a groin issue, but Neto looks like he’ll be fit for Saturday’s trip to Burnley after being pictured back in training on Monday.
