Everton are hoping to have Jack Grealish back with the club next year after the player's season-ending injury.

Grealish's 2025/26 campaign was cut short after picking up a stress fracture on his foot last month which required surgery during a win over former club Aston Villa.

The 30-year-old had been enjoying his stint at the Toffees which showed an uptick in form following two goals and six assists in 22 games this season.

The original loan move from Manchester City to Everton included a £50 million buy option – a price that is too high for Everton right now.

According to journalist Mark Douglas of The i Paper, David Moyes' side want the player back at the club for the 2026/27 season and are willing to pay £25 million to secure the England international's signature on a permanent deal.

Should the two clubs not agree on a transfer fee Everton would be happy to loan the player again for a further season. However, with Grealish's contract expiring at the end of next season the Citizens are likely to prefer to sell the player than letting him leave on a free.
